Robert Rankin

Vice President


Robert has been a Trustee of Stewards Foundation since September of 2021. He currently serves as the Vice President of Stewards Foundation, as Chairman of the Finance / Investments / Compensation Committee, and on the Public Relations and Health Care Committees.

Robert was born on October 10, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to believing parents who were in fellowship at Maplewood Bible Chapel where his father served as elder for over 30 years. At the age of 9, he came to know Christ as his Savior during a series of gospel meetings with Welcome Detweiler at his home assembly. At the age of 13, he was baptized and came into fellowship in the meeting.

After finishing High School, he attended a one-year Bible School in California, California Center for Biblical Studies, during the school year of 1976-1977. He returned to Missouri to pursue a degree in Chemistry and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Missouri University of Science and Technology in May of 1985. Between 1988 and 2000, he worked as an Analytical Chemist at several environmental laboratories. Since 2000, he has been employed with scientific instrumentation companies as both a Field Technical Support Specialist and as a Field Service Engineer. Robert is currently employed by Revvity, where he works as a Senior Customer Support Engineer in the Diagnostics division servicing genetic testing equipment used in state laboratories for the screening of genetic abnormalities in newborn babies.

In December of 1982, Robert attended a Missions conference in Chicago, Illinois. It was there that he met Wendy Rockhold of Ponca City, Oklahoma, who 2 years later became his wife. In August of 1984, Wendy and Robert were married and took up residence in Rolla, Missouri where they lived for 17 years. In June of 2000, he accepted employment in Indianapolis, Indiana, where they have continued to reside. They immediately came into fellowship at Bethany Bible Chapel (since renamed Bethany Christian Fellowship) where they remain in fellowship.

Wendy and Robert have been involved in teaching Sunday School and Robert has taught various small group Bible studies. In 2014, he began serving as an elder and continues in that role. He is also involved in discipling and as a couple they have been involved in marriage counseling. They have raised 6 children (5 daughters and a son) and are the grandparents of 5.
