Executive Director

Doug Rice | Stewards Foundation

Doug began his tenure with Stewards Foundation August 12, 2010, as Interim Executive Director. The Board of Trustees promoted him to the position of Executive Director in March of 2011.

Doug was born March 15, 1955 in Dallas, Texas where he has lived his entire life. After graduating from high school, Doug attended the University of Texas, Arlington graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and in 1981 with a Master of Architecture.

In September of 1984, Doug received his license to practice architecture in the state of Texas and subsequently achieved licensure in Oklahoma, Missouri and New Mexico. He was employed with two different architectural firms in the Dallas area from December of 1981 to November of 1986. In January of 1987, Doug began his own architectural practice and continued that practice until accepting his current position at Stewards Foundation. Among his architectural projects were the design of assembly facilities in Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri.

Being raised in a Christian home, Doug enjoyed the benefit of having godly parents. His father was the third generation in his family and his mother the second generation in her family to meet with the Lord’s people simply in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Doug’s family was in fellowship with the assembly of Christians that met at Polk Street Bible Chapel when he trusted the Lord Jesus as his Savior at the age of 6. He was baptized at the age of 11 and received into assembly fellowship. The assembly facility was relocated to Wheatland Road in Duncanville, Texas in 1980 and renamed Wheatland Bible Chapel. Doug has served as an elder in this assembly since 1985.

In 1992, Doug married Denise Sabolski of Duncanville, Texas who was in fellowship at Wheatland Bible Chapel. The Lord blessed Doug and Denise with two daughters, Sarah and Rebecca. Both Sarah and Rebecca trusted the Lord Jesus as their Savior at a young age, and were baptized.  Sarah is in fellowship at Wheatland Bible Chapel.  Rebecca and her husband Seth Moffitt are in fellowship at East Tulsa Bible Chapel in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Doug and Denise enjoy the blessing of a grandson by Seth and Rebecca.
